General Meeting Information
Meeting Frequency
Cub Scout Pack 578 will typically meet twice a month, as a whole group, on the first and third Fridays of each month at the Orange County Buddhist Church (OCBC) in Anaheim, CA. The den leader will provide addition information on their respective den's event schedule. During Den meetings, the Scouts learn new skills, practice teamwork, experience fun outings and work on advancement. For Pack 578, the start of the scouting year typically begins in late August and the end of the scout year is in the following May. We usually take June, July, and early August off.
Meeting Time
Typically, den meetings will begin at 7:00PM. Lead by the den leaders, all scouts will gather in the outdoor area between the Social Hall and Hondo around 6:45PM and line up according to the den. A map of the OCBC campus is available here. Den meetings will typically last approximately 1 hour and conclude around 8:00PM.
Meeting Venue
The entire Pack (including all dens) will meet together at the Orange County Buddhist Church (OCBC). The default gathering place is the outdoor area between the Social Hall and Hondo. A map of the OCBC campus is available here. The address is: 909 S Dale Ave, Anaheim, CA 92804. The specific meeting venue for each den, i.e. inside a classroom or outdoor in the courtyard, may vary depending on the adventure/lesson requirement.
COVID Protocol: As of June 2022, all participants of indoor meetings at OCBC - including gym and classroom - will be required to wear masks. Masks are optional outdoors.
